Word Up and queer Armenians!
I visited Word Up in Washington Heights yesterday. If you don’t know about this pop-up bookstore that keeps on keeping on (over a year now!), check it out:

I chatted with Veronica Liu, who started Word Up a
s a month-long project back in June 2011. She’s still managing the shop, AND she’s the managing editor of Seven Stories Press. How she does it all I don’t know, but I’m inspired.
I bought QUEERED: WHAT’S TO BE DONE WITH XCENTRIC ART, a queer art book “published by Queering Yerevan, a collective of queer women artists and writers from Armenia and the Armenian diaspora.” An exciting discovery!
